Olympic Water Cube.



Hij is al even open, maar we willen dit mooie gebouw toch nog even onder de aandacht brengen.
Kijk eens wat je met een "LED - gevel" allemaal kunt doen.
The National Aquatics Center, also known as the “Water Cube”, is one of the most dramatic and exciting sporting venues for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. Enclosed within the blue bubble walls are five swimming pools, including a wave machine and rides and a restaurant, along with seating and facilities for 17,000 spectators.



The structural design is based on the natural formation of soap bubbles which give a random, organic appearance. To achieve this, research was undertaken by Weaire and Phelan (professors of physics) into how soap bubbles might be arranged into an infinite array.
