The first white LED screen.

Arch has recently installed in the lobby of the Boréal building in Brussels, the first white LED screen ever realized. This building owned by the investment fund Deka-Immobilien Europa will become the headquarters of the "Retail & Privante Banking" department of BNP Paribas Fortis. The LED screen measuring 11 meters long by 3 meters high responds precisely to the wishes of the architect. It fits perfectly in the lobby both in its conception and its design that makes it looks like the white tiles of the adjacent walls.
The model ALS Indoor 8mm offers an extraordinary resolution of 1408 x 368 pixels, more than 515.000 LEDs! The challenge was to produce a white screen (when it is turned off) in order to respect the concept conceived by Conix, the architect; but also to provide a passive cooling thereby ensuring a perfect silence while in operation.
