48 m LED wall in the Museum of London.


The Museum of London is renowned for being one of the biggest museums for urban history worldwide. An important objective of the museum is to pass this knowledge on to younger generations and to stir their interest in topics of urban history. For this purpose, among others, the Sackler Hall was redesigned to an information and meeting point where the visitors can also relax. The museum invested £ 20 m in total in the reconstruction.
The elliptic LED (light diodes) wall in the hall with a height of 1.60 m and a diameter of 48 m, installed by the Düsseldorf company curveLED GmbH, is a particular eye-catcher. With this system, changing news and information, but also movie sequences can be shown.

The project’s objective was to make the museum accessible for new generations by construction and education measures. To be more precise, the installation was mounted in the Sackler Hall, were an information and meeting point was established, where visitors can relax. On the LED wall, the visitors find numerous electronic information on the museum’s collections, expositions and resources.
