Grip UI at CEATEC 2012.
While smartphones, tablets and notebook PCs continue to embrace touch screen user input, the 2012 CEATEC exhibit introduced newer user input modalities that may appear in future devices. Ever creative Japanese telecom firm NTT DOCOMO showed off a new concept in mobile device user interfaces called Grip UI.(User Interface).
They have added sensors and software to a phone that allows users to use different grips of the phone to perform different functions like answering a call, for example. It is great for single-handed operation of the phone.
