Disney Side Shadows.
from Grand Visual on Vimeo.
Disney Parks wanted to refresh its #DisneySide activation running in North America and increase social engagement. The initial brief was to create a social video from the Out-of-Home experience that would bring to life the essence of the Show Your Disney Side campaign in a fun and unexpected manner that would encourage viewers to share via social media.
To do this, Disney Parks installed a storefront facade that displayed ‘shadows’ of shoppers as they passed by…only the shadows were of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and other Disney characters.

LED there be light !
This production by project lighthouse won the Wild Competition @ Revision Easterparty 2016 in Saarbrücken, Germany! Thanks!
At Kiel University, we setup a system of approx. 57.000 single LEDs in 392 windows (14 floors, 28 single windows per floor). Each single window carries its own, network-addressable LED-Bar (70 cm, carrying 144 LEDs each). Our students from the Department of Computer Science developed everything from scratch: Prototyping, Hardware (LED-Bars, Controllers etc.), Software (Server, Tool-Infrastructure etc.). And an API! We love LEDs.
Although we are still not them - Greetings to the guys from #blinkenlights for creating the original idea and inspiring us. Our hearts (digital and analogue) are with you guys.

High-Tech walking therapy on a video floor.
How can we make walking rehabilitation easier, more fun and more effective? This is the question that the University of Twente, De Hoogstraat Revalidatie, UMC Utrecht and LedGo have been working hard to answer in the past two years. LedGo is a world leader in interactive LED video floors and their work features in high-profile entertainment productions such as The Voice, Victoria’s Secret and the Eurovision Song Contest. This collaboration has resulted in a permanent LED video floor for rehabilitating patients to be installed in the DesignLab at the University of Twente Campus on 5 April.
UT creative technologists Dennis Reidsma and Robby van Delden (funded by the COMMIT/ research programme) focus among other things on influencing physical and social behaviour through play and experience. Their Tikkertje 2.0 application has been a great success in getting children up and moving and in enabling scientists to analyse their behaviour.

talkRADIO - Eat Street @ Westfield London
talkRadio chose to launch their new national radio station with the innovative use of DOOH. The objective of the activity was to launch talkRADIO, and to position it as the station that everybody is talking about. By appreciating that people now consume their news through social media they wanted to embrace this and use it to reflect the views of the nation, whilst at the same time encouraging people to call in and have their say.
DOOH was used throughout the country and the central element to the campaign was linking Eat Street Westfield London to talkRADIO’s studio – Live.
An experiential location was set up alongside the screen with a hotline through to the studio – giving the Westfield shoppers the opportunity to get things off their chests.
The campaign was planned and bough by Mindshare and out of home specialist Kinetic.

StubHub Will Use Virtual Reality to Let You Preview Your Seat.
Like many companies, eBay is convinced virtual reality is the next big thing. But also like a lot of companies, eBay is trying to figure out just what that means for its business.
On Thursday, the company is announcing its first small foray into the VR arena, as subsidiary StubHub offers Final Four ticket buyers the option to get an immersive, 3-D view of available seats. A similar option will also appear for those looking to purchase baseball tickets for AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants.
The experience will work from within the existing StubHub apps for iOS and Android. Customers will have the option of either using a smartphone or tablet and rotating it around to see different views, or popping their phone into a VR headset like Google Cardboard or Gear VR for a more immersive view.
“We didn’t want to do something just for fun or [as] a marketing gimmick,” said Marcus Shelksohn, StubHub’s head of product for mobile apps. Being able to see what the view is like solves a real problem for customers, he said. “Are those seats that are closer to the court really worth the extra $50?”
StubHub isn’t alone, with other online ticket sellers, teams and venues also working to offer interactive seat maps using virtual reality.
