Foot Locker lets shoppers design their own New Balance.

In the Times Square Foot Locker store, Shoppers can let their fingers do the walking, all the way to brand new, custom-designed shoes — for their feet, not their fingers.
Atheletic shoe brand New Balance recently teamed with shoe and apparel chain Foot Locker to launch the New Balance customization kiosk in the chain's Times Square location. The kiosk allows shoppers to interact via touchscreen digital signage to design their very own pair of the classic New Balance 574 sneakers.
According to Foot Locker, shoppers can select the colors for various segments of the shoe upper, pick from various materials, and even opt for custom writing on the shoe's heel — "all adding up to a total of 48,000,000,000,000,000 combinations (that's 48 quadrillion or 48,000 billion for those keeping track)."

The interactive screens are situated above merchandising displays featuring various color combinations of the 574, giving shoppers the opportunity to touch, feel and see the real-life product while they design their custom kicks. Not forgetting the importance of social media, the kiosk also enables shoppers to share their designs on Facebook or Twitter directly from the screen.
